hi gogebang, it's been a very long time since i wrote on you eight month ago. not like the other writing, right now i'm gonna straight to the topic, yeah, it's all about my majors, agroindustrial technology or in bahasa, u know it as teknologi industri pertanian (TIP).
Many people think i was on the faculty of agriculture that studies about agricultural crops, how to make the crops grows well, how to protect it from pests, and many more when they ask me about my college. Somekind of annoying friends also think that my majors is not much different than harvest moon game, i don't even know what game it is when they told me like that. So, i wanna make this clear now.
I study at Gadjah Mada University, Faculty of agricultural technology, agroindustrial technology majors. What make us different with faculty of agriculture is, we learned about post-harvest matter and that faculty learned about pre-harvest matter. So, the first conclusion is, i can't give the answer if you ask me about how to make a good irrigation system, what is the perfect tractor that have to used by the farmer, what is the best fertilizer to make the crops grows faster, and any kind of question like that. But, if you ask me about what is the perfect process to make food or beverage not easily stale, what is the proper packaging for food or beverage, which are food addictive that may be added to food or beverage, i think i can deal with it.
The knowledge that i've got and i'll get (bacause my study is not finished yet, i'm in my fourth semester right now) in here is very wide, not only just about agriculture. The course that should i take are agroindustrial materials knowledge, unit processes, industrial mathematics, industrial statistics, industrial management, environmental engineering, industrial microbiology, engineering drawings, sanitary industry, microeconomics, economic engineering, layout and materials handling, engineering work procedures, quality control, marketing, management information systems, and many more. There are mathematics, physics, biochemistry, biology, management, computer, and economy here, or you can also say it that there are seven different knowledge in one. So, second conclusion is, my majors is train you to be a person who knows everything in all industrial matter, i repeat it again, a person who khows everyhing, e ve ry thing, i'm not kidding with this.
I know it's just kinda weird if i told you about what is the meaning of agroindustrial technology in this last part of my writing, but i gonna do it. Agroindustry itself means the activities to transform agriculture materials into industrial product in order to increase the added value, that activities including raw material supply, production, marketing, and storage. So, when it is arranged with technology, it means that those activities are also supported with technology that can make it more efficient. From that description, we can say that my majors will give me a great future because we can see right know although the farmlands are decreased, but agricultural industry is increased and even become the heart of economy in Indonesia. Of course i don't really support that things especially for the decreasing farmlands part, i'm very sorry to know that and i promise to myself that i will fight for them, hopefully i can make it real. Many of my major's graduate become a production manager, a quality control manager, a research and development manager, and even there are many of graduate that become an enterpreneur that supporting of local farmer for his business.
Maybe it's all that i can write right now, hopefully it can open people's eyes about my majors, and hopefully there are many company too that will realize about competences that my major's graduates have, which is not only about agricultural things but also all of industrial things.
